A native of Marin County, California, James began piano lessons at age seven. His principal teachers were Dr. S. Drummond Wolfe, Herbert Inskip, Dr. Frank Marks and Samuel Lipman.
James has appeared in concert as a soloist, as a chamber musician, and as an instrumental and vocal accompanist. His discography includes Mozart Piano Sonatas, Scriabin Sonatas 1-4, French Piano Music, and Mozart, Skryabin and Liszt, and are available on this website, or at other online stores.
James currently lives in Novato, California, with his wife, Claire.
